Racing Shocks Australia is the Australian importer & factory trained service dealer for Motion Control Suspension. MCS is a boutique manufacturer of vehicle damper systems.

The early air-cooled Porsche 911 systems is the signature damper system from Motion Control Suspension.

These 911 struts/shocks systems are used regularly in Australia on Street/track day cars, Targa Rally vehicles & Internationally in Safari style rallies as popularized by Lehman Keen in the Keen Project You Tube videos. Multiple Le Mans winning driver Tom Kristensen has MCS dampers fitted to his Porsche 911 that was built to commemorate his very first win.

Motion Control Suspension has worked with the application regularly over the course of our 28 years and counting, and know what it takes to make these cars handle well. Whether you are restoring your Air-Cooled Porsche, have a resto-mod build in the works, or if you race your car, with our help we have a solution for you.

We offer our full range of damper systems for Air-Cooled Porsches and can convert your original spindles or build you new CNC cut spindles, something only MCS can offer. Our dampers have threaded bodies and can be used with or without coil springs and torsion bars. Damper lengths are carefully designed for your vehicle, with consideration of your wheel and tire configuration, ride height, and goals; this ensures you have appropriate bump and droop travel, and not only meet, but exceed your goals.

These systems are available for Porsche 911 G / Porsche 911 (classic), and Porsche 914 models, including but not limited to:

  • 914 (1969–1976)
  • O, A and B series (1964–1969)

  • 3 way remote canister system (3WRC) low speed & high speed compression adjustment on canister, rebound adjustment on shaft
  • 4 way remote canister system (4WRC) low & high speed compression adjustment on canister, low & high speed rebound adjustment on shaft
  • All adjustment series can be upgraded for more adjustment from 1WRC to 4WRC in the future

Quick release dry break connectors & bump steer brackets are an additional cost for remote canister setups.

Single spring setups use one spring per wheel. Twin spring setups use two springs per wheel, the smaller being a tender spring which is normally completely compressed at ride height. The rate of this spring helps to keep weight on the inside wheel in cornering while giving additional roll support. Spring rates will be specified dependent if the car is only driven on the street, street & track or race only.

The price indicated is an indicative base price for a car set. If single or twin springs is selected, the price includes MCS front strut mounts & the cost of the springs. The final price may differ slightly which we will confirm at the time of order or enquiry due to currency exchange rate fluctuations.

The price includes international air freight & customs clearance. It does not include domestic freight from our Melbourne warehouse to another location in Australia.

Racing Shocks Australia can also supply strut mounts & other bolt on items from Porsche specialists Elephant Racing or Tarett Engineering. Pricing TBC.
